RX 350 april 2023 order update ?

Can anyone advise?.... as of today April 9 2023 where Lexus is on getting orders done? if they are doing custom orders for non hybrid RX's?
Here's my story, on January 25th 2023 I placed a 1,000 refundable deposit on a 350RX in Nori Green with Palomino interior and specific options. (NOT a hybrid)
My dealership said they would try to get one as close as they could when Lexus opened up the books on the 30th of each month to one that was in the line to be made. They then said that in February Lexus was allowing them to custom order the exact car I wanted and it was accepted by Lexus on February 25th to be custom made.
We would hear more once Lexus actually made the car and gave it a VIN . It is now April....
Any one know anything about how that all works? if that is how it works? how long it takes?
Thank you for any current information...

First I’ve heard that Lexus is allowing custom orders on the 5th generation RXs. The dealer should get an allocation build sheet about 2 weeks before the car is actually built and then given a real VIN. In Feb we gave our dealer the colors we wanted and 2 must have options. Looking at their site, I can tell others were in line ahead of us because matching cars came and went. We finally got offered a car March 20 when we were sent the build sheet. The car was built last week and we should have it around May 5th. One thing slowing you down may be that I don’t see many Nori Greens on dealer sites at all which probably means Lexus isn’t doing a lot of that color.

I did some googling and they did allow it on 4th gen RXs. The one example I saw was 6 weeks from accepted order until the build sheet was provided. Delivered 6 weeks after that.

Thank you for sharing that information. Like you, we were offered an RX 350h last week and received a sheet that included features, cost, color, VIN, etc. I assume this is what you referred to as a build sheet. They had just received information about this car right before it was offered to us. What was the time between you receiving the build sheet and the window sticker being available? It looks like it took three or four weeks from your offer to it being built, and then an estimated 4 or 5 weeks to delivery. Does that sound accurate?

Have you received any more information on your car?

I just got a copy of the monroney last week. I was actually able to pull it off the dealer's web site when I got the VIN from my sales person last week. I'm sure if I'd bothered her I could have gotten it sooner. The monroney I got off the site is even watermarked with the date the car was made as a creation date for the sticker. Some port installed items that were on the build sheet didn't make it to the built car (rear bumper applique, door edge protection, and key glove) so the msrp dropped on the final sticker. We took care of the pricing agreement yesterday and the car is due next week still. So out timeline is still 15 days from being offered the dealer's allocation build sheet to the vehicle actually being built. Delivery from Ontario, Canada to the dealer in Texas is still on track for 4 weeks.

A build sheet VIN will not be the final vehicle VIN. My build sheet VIN was 2T2BAMBAXPC16B412. The actual VIN will have all numbers for the last 6 digits.

Thank you for your response. I did notice the VIN didn’t look correct in the build sheet. We did get a window sticker and as you noted, that VIN does contain numbers in the last 6 digits. The sales person thinks our car might arrive by the middle of May. If that actually does happen by the middle of May, we will have only waited about a month from acceptance to delivery. I hopefully based on the delivery of other cars I’m seeing.
Try putting your VIN in this site: Toyota Tracker
it can give a status but doesn’t work for all VINs. It doesn’t work for mine. There is also a guy on reddit who has put together allocation sheets your car may be on. That is found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Lexus/comments/12xvls6
